If anyone is interested in translating, I got this off an email about rates

My standard rates are US$0.06 or S/.0.20 per word.

I charge $14 or S/ 45 for a page of 250 words, I charge per page. I often charge per book when it is a book and there is no special hurry, about $3000 a book, depending on size.

Ranges from 8 to 25 dollars per page

My page format is 23 lines and 65 characters per line. (some use 21 lines and some 25). In terms of words, it's about 250 words per page.

This an offical translator? Because this is so expensive. More expensive then even some offical translators. It wouldnt take a year to translate a book, and 3000$ tax free is a lot of money in Per for a year.

Nope, these are just what some people on the expatriate list expatperu.com charge.

Right, it's a lot, and doesn't take that long, which is why it's a good job. Smile

My translation of my birth cert cost 20 USD and probably took five minutes. It was done by an offical translator and didn't have 250 words or close.
