What? Death penalty? Where?
Are you speaking about Teresa Lewis who recently was executed in Jarratt, Virginia! I wonder if the line to Virginia Senator was open until the execution of Teresa?
It seems Jarrat is not different than Al-Kharj!
Fantasy vs reality! Or may be fantasy is reality! |

Well, yes...along the road there are burnt-out trucks and car wrecks, old rusty oil drums, lots of rubbish...the landscape is extremely like that in Mad Max movies.
It's beautiful, a truly delightful environment.
Mind you, some people think of it as a sun-baked hell, which it's not. You see, for about three months a year, from March to June, you will see very little sun with all the sand blowing around. In April, it rains heavily as well. The lowering grey skies add their own character to the place.
If you see anyone playing frisbee, do not reach out to grab one! |

Now hopefully you will stay in Riyadh and they won't send you out to the back of beyond.
Aren't you the cat and the cello lady? Did either or both of them make it with you?

I had all his paperwork only to find that Etihad Airways does not take animals onboard or as cargo. Bummer. |
Usually most airlines have strict regulations on tarpit temperature at destination airports. Our cat "Jazz" got into Saudi over the Bahrain - Saudi bridge. When my better half landed in Bahrain with Jazz it was Feb. and the tarpit temp. was reasonable enough for animals to be able to survive on it.
Regards.

| When I left Jeddah in 2002 on final exit I took my doggy with me in a pet-carrier. She travelled with us. That was on Saudi Arabian Airlines. |

| It's around an hour south of Riyadh...however the direction south from Riyadh is the direction you DON'T want to travel from Riyadh as it's in the direction of the Rub al Khali. |
Really? Same direction? Don't you think you should warn all those people leaving Manhattan every morning going across to New Jersey that they are going in the general direction of the frozen wastes of Alaska?
