Hi I will enter japan on a whv in 2012 and hope to find some kind of enlglish teaching job. I know that the term starts in april so i am wondering when i should arrive and start looking on the ground for jobs. If anyone has done the same or is in japan and could advise me i would be very grateful. Would march be ok or would there be any jobs advertised as early as february?

thanks

You haven't mentioned if you've got a TESOL certificate or diploma, or a teaching credential. You didn't say what kind of job you are aiming at.

Many schools, school boards, companies and eikaiwas start posting their job openings in December. January, February are very busy for hiring, and from what I've seen, you sign contracts in early March.

HTH.
