Saigon Tech is in dist 12 not Go Vap and it is about 45 min drive from dist 1.

I recently ran into a teacher who has taught there and he is scared that he will not have a job next semester as student enrollment is way down.

If you check Saigon ESL they have a history of slow pay. It is a Viet Kieu/Ha Noi operation.

I hear from many teachers that it was once a fairly good school but the last couple of years it has gone to the dogs.

When I worked at Saigon Tech there were 3 campuses. Quang Trung, Cong Hoa and Truong Dinh (I think that was the street name).

I loved the setup there as a teacher, as I was pretty much left alone to teach, however the curriculum was pretty ordinary. Usual stuff, photocopied books, mixed levels and of course there was the order from admin to pass all students.

They also tried all the tricks in the trade - holding back on getting work permits although demanded that you had your paper work to them, held back pay from a number of teachers etc.

I believe the change of DOS Khanh was a turning point and from what i remember he went out on a bang.

It's interesting to note that if you were a newbie and you saw Saigon Tech especially the D12 campus you would be excused for thinking it was a legitimate university. It's the perfect example of how you dont realise you are working for a cowboy school until it's too late.

They did however give me the same class and hours all semester and that is rare in cowboy schools.
