I know there are a lot of shady schools in Krakow, so am looking for people's opinions on ones that are decent.
I've found the following online that seem to be ok. Any opinions on any of them greatly appreciated.
K&K School of English
Lincoln School
Stairway School |

Interlang's good. I've worked there for three years. See other posts. |

If Interlang is now good, I suspect there must have been some big changes. I worked there a while back now, so it's quite possible this is the case.

I suggest giving ILT a wide berth - isn't worth the risk. |

I whole heartedly recommend Three Lions. It's a small school and the wages aren't great, I worked there after leaving York (which I would not recommend to my worst enemy). While the wages are low, I was earning more than I ever did working for York. The owner is great, very relaxed; friendly students; no problem with being paid; stress free. |

Still can't agree about ILT, but never mind ...
Also agree about Three Lions. I did a summer course there a while back. The owner's a straight-up, friendly guy. although the pay is indeed low. However, the students must be happy (partly price-wise?) as the school has expanded quite a bit over the last 2 or 3 years. |

LOL, Janek, I had similar pleasure. You're spot on, owner of ILT is pretentious 'pain in the ass' (to use your words). Does he still pretend to be German? |

If only I'd read this several months ago!
K and K gave me my first teaching job. Overall it was a good 18 months. They are a well-organized outfit run by a couple by the name of Kokosinski (K and K).
The wages are solid if unspectacular. Hours were good- as a native speaker, you had 24-30 but all in evening blocks with the possible addition of a Saturday morning.
Some people have complained that the owners can be overbearing, perhaps, but I always felt that they only had their company and students' best interests at heart.
It is located a 20-25 minute tram ride outside the centre. You may want to consider getting your accommodation nearby for this reason. That said, I always lived in the centre as I preferred to commute for work rather than for my social life.
As for the other two schools, I've only heard good things about them too. |
