From the previous page - 'recorded history'. Should this phrase peeve? What other type of history is there but recorded.? Isn't unrecorded history a contradiction in terms? Yes, I know that there are oral histories as well as written ones, but aren't they both still recorded. We wouldn't have them otherwise and they'd be.. well... 'history' by now.

What do the peevers say?

Yes, the more I think of it, the more we may need a pogrom against the term 'pre-historic'. Has got to go...

156! Another milestone on our path to history! Real history! None of this unrecorded nonsense.

Dunno if this peeves visitors to London as such, but it certainly bewilders scores of EFL students:

On that note, George Carlin was a great man, with many peeves.

That reminds me of another one! RIP/Rest In Peace..

How ELSE would they rest? Is this a preventative act towards zombies? If someone rests un-peacefully do they come back from the dead?!?

Hmmm. Cemetery peeves. Could open up new avenues, but probably best not to go there. Will come to grief.

Anyway, isn't the whole point that one hopes that their souls are now at peace? At rest.

'Condolences'. Still have not figured out a better phrase.

A recent addition to the language: to kettle. Some of my liberal friends find this word and action to be peeving, but I am amazed at the restraint and discipline it shows. Who would have thought the capitalist piggies capable? Personally, I'd send in the tanks...

Comrades, toilers of our glorious Motherland! We need to increase the peeves! Our central planners have noted a sharp increase in overall peeve production, but this is localised to all too few Stakhanovite peevers.

Forward comrades! A joyful future awaits!
