I'm currently teaching at Dongducheon Foreign Language High School in South Korea, and my principal is making a trip out to HK to meet other principals from HK Secondary Schools in the hopes of setting up some kind of exchange program. He's only been able to get a hold of a couple of schools, and has given me the task of trying to find other HK Secondary School principals or vice-principals willing to meet up.

My principal will be in-town April 13th-16th. I know it's not a lot of notice, but I thought I'd give this forum a shot.

I was wondering if you SNETs out there would you be so kind as to inquire about whether your respective school representatives would be willing to grant a short meeting with my school principal? Or, if it's easier as I know you're probably swamped with work, could you provide me with a contact number?

Thanks in advance!

How long have you been at DFLHS? I am wondering if we have met....I used to teach at SNFLHS and we used to clash at the three schools PE day? I know that that was cancelled last year, but in 2009 we came up to you...

I started at DFL March 2010. I've just begun my second year with them. I know of the 3 day sports event that was nixed by the time I got there; my students are adamant that the sports event was cancelled because the other schools didn't want to take part after my students had won most of the events. haha That's kids for you. I think it was probably nixed for other reasons. Did you take part in the sports events that day? I tried to get a teacher's basketball team together on our sports day (minus the other schools), but it never materialized.

Interesting ... I'll see if my school is up for it. Get back to you real soon.

There's something really odd about this.

What's the word, Veek??

And yes, Serious_Fun, I concede it's not a "normal" request. I assure you it's not a joke though!

My principal wants to set up a sister school program with high schools across asia. We've got one going with Taiwan; the students from the Taiwanese HS visit us and stay in our guestrooms at the dormitory while getting a tour of Korean and experiencing the day in the life of a Korean student. Our students then went to the Taiwanese HS and did pretty much the same thing.

Your winning was one reason, the other 'stated' reason was cost.....even though each school only hosted it once every three years so I don't believe the whole cost issue.

I took part as a secret cheerleader troupe member with a mask and a wig in 2009. I also played for the staff football team. It was good fun and the students last year were really pi22ed that it was cancelled.....
