Hi

I want to start applying for positions starting in around Aug/Sept - the next semester. I'm looking to work in South China, although unsure exactly on location at the moment

What's the best way to apply to public institutions or Private public schools/Universities?

The TEFL market is beseeched with language academies, but after my current stint in one there is no way I want to continue working for one. Its not that my current one is bad as such, I just don't like the hours, which divide uncomfortably, the pushy parents, the lack of paid holidays (I'd like to have school holidays free to travel/enjoy)

Any decent recruiters, websites or just reputable schools please let me know. Thanks

Just keep checking ESL Cafe and other sites like: http://www.totalesl.com/job.php.

And apply. Also, if your already in China you can go ahead and drop off your resume in person. I know there are plenty of colleges in Sichuan looking for teachers.

I also think most colleges use some type of recruiter, because they don't want to deal with the process themselves. Good luck.

Why not do some leg(hand)work for yourself and browse/search the web for schools and contact them directly. That's how I got all my jobs. Many, but not most, universities have web sites and some of them offer a page regarding hiring of foreign teachers. Contact them directly - take the initiative on your own.

Just some advice, being clearer about what you need help with goes a long way. "public institutions or Private public schools/Universities" makes no sense to me at all.

Best way to find a job is to let it be known that you want to work at the place. To increase your chances you should think about how you can help them and they can help you.
