We all figured it had to be the work of an imposter.

It is possible, Mr. 47, that some considered your multiple posts to be SPAM and did not wish to encourage you.

I responded to you privately, didn't I?

Mr Dundat

I was, unsuccessfully it seems, trying to draw attention to some infantile posters here who go postal when they do not get the answers they want.

I should remember humour does not always work,

And I thought of them immediately, Mr. 47! Well done.

Hi guys,

I hate to take this highly informative post off track --- far be it from me to derail a thread Shocked but ---

Scot used the term 'go postal' - a wonderful little term that I think of as an Americanism - coming as it does from that strange phenomenon of the postman bringing his personal problems and an assault weapon to work.

Now has he (gasp) borrowed the term or is this common of the world's postman?

Just Curious

Yes, VS, and I've been meaning to speak to you about this: I've noticed several suspicious locutions in Mr. 47's posts lately; Freudian slips? I wonder if I detect wannabe American tendencies. Razz

I am and always have been a great admirer of some aspects of life in God's Own Country.

Nevertheless I have never been further West than Dublin nor further East than Pattaya in Thailand.

Maybe if I get the chance I will go and visit the USofA but................................................

Will they let me in ?

My dream has always been to view the place where that great man, Governor Huey Long was cruelly done to death by the agents of Evil.

No problem. I'll arrange all of that, and I'll act as your personal escort. We can visit the Statue of Arrogance, the Monument to the Disregard of Other People's Opinions, the Tower of Self-Absorption (in California), and the Tomb of the Unknown (and Unelected) Foreign-Policy Architect. We can also take the Tour of Rural Meth Labs and stop by the National Crack Mines, where there are towering cocaine sculptures of Warren Buffet, Jimmy Buffet, Smith, & Wesson. We'll have a grand time...

Oh, the baggage allowance is 2 x 31 kg plus a carry-on.

And when you do the Tour of the Rural Meth Labs, be sure to stop in and say 'Hi.' This rural state has gone big time into the business. I'm sure I could round up a cup of coffee or tea for the two of you. Smile
