What do they mean by 'FULL' medical check for work visa in China? How full is a Full? Completely naked? Examined all over?
I know there is a sticky for this, but it seems to be unanswered there and fairly inactive now, with few replies. |

In most places, it's just things like blood test for HIV, chest x-ray, heart beat, height, weight and maybe a few more extras like blood pressure, color blindness, eye sight etc. Usually, you need to remove your shirt, socks and shoes but that is as exciting as it gets.
Maybe dissection and mutilation will be added in due course! |

Go online and search/download the health examination form and you'll see what they check for. Where I am located that also include (besides the chest x-ray) an abdominal ultrasound. |

Funny story about the abdominal ultrasound:
Got to China two months ago and I go with the FAO to get the medical check done. We go to one hospital, small but close, and do all the tests. However when it comes to the ultrasound, they see something but can't determine what it is. Maybe a spot on my liver?
So we go to another larger hospital where they perform an ultrasound as well. Turns out I have kidney stones, small ones but they're there.
The doctor's advice? Drink more water.
I love China. |

"Full" varies form city to city.
What the above posters said is exactly what I experienced.
Right down to the kidney stones and a fatty liver...
What got me was that the fat cow of an fao girl who took me to the test site laughed at how unhealthy I was. |

When they say 'turn around' and you hear a slapping sound of a glove, you know you're in the wrong province. |

If it's a prostate exam and the doctor has both hands on your shoulders, leave immediately. |

I'm beginning to think fatty liver is a chronic older FT condition.
My last check found that as it did for my then DTA who is also over 50.
Quick hands up please of any readers whose medical found fatty liver. |

At the first school I worked at, which was in a small remote town, they just tested for HIV. The rest of the form they filled out to make it look as if I was healthy. Where I live now they did everything on the form. |

Endoscopy and liver biopsy are not on the list. I had one hearing test where they had a tuning fork and held it up to each ear and asked me if I heard the sound. The urine test are a joke. Everyone gets a plastic up with a numver on it. Very easy just switch urine with another person. The cup sits on a table with no one watching. The whole thing takes less than 15 minute to complete. They make money doing them here. |

Don't worry, you can keep your pants on.
They really just want your blood for STD test, since we are all sex fiends lusting after their women...
Oh, and they want a cup of urine to see what drugs you are on. |

To Flying scotsman and nonsequitur ...et al,
Having completed several years of med school , I can tell you that fatty liver has nothing to do with eating meat. Fatty Liver is usually caused by excessive alcohol intake and/or obesity. This can lead to alcoholic liver disease and eventually possibly cirrhosis.
Fatty liver is the most common cause of abnormal liver function. However, fatty liver is prevalent in 33% of European -Americans. The good news is that it is reversible...if you stop drinking or lose weight. |
