Hi
I arrived in Thailand three weeks ago on a Non-Imm 'O' Single-Entry Visa (I'm working as a volunteer teacher for a year at a Buddhist monastery).
I've unexpectedly got a long weekend and I was thinking of going to Phnom Penh to see a friend (train from Bangkok, probably), but I suppose that 'Single-Entry' part is a no-no,huh?
Is it possible to get the visa upgraded ok on the way back (train or plane?) to multiple entry or should I forget the trip and upgrade the visa in Bangkok at a later date?

You need to get a re-entry permit from your local immigration office BEFORE you travel or you will end up canceling your visa and re-entering on a 15-day tourist stamp.
1000 baht and some paperwork and an hour or two of your time to get it done.

Probably much better to take a bus, or even better, a cheap Air Asia flight. It's a long, long way to go for a long weekend if you're traveling overland! |

Me again ...
I'm a bit confused about where exactly to get my re-entry.
I'm working near Ratchapuri. Is it possible for anyone - regardless of where in Thailand they live/work to go to the Bangkok Immigration Office and get the re-entry there? This is what I would like to do.
Is it also possible to get the re-entry at airports/land crossings?

You need to do it at the same office where you will get your extension and do your 90 day reports at (the one that has jurisdiction over your place of residence).
You can't get a re-entry permit at a land crossing.
You MAY be able to get one at BKK but I have been told that it is no longer possible (can't say for certain).
