Hmmm, but the thought of the Metro in Rome on a foggy Autumnal day is mighty appealing.

However, Spain does seem easier. Maybe I could do both, take it un turns. So get to Rome with a Celta and a year of experience.

Very little fog in Rome. In fact, I can't remember ever seeing fog (or snow) in the 4 years I was there.

Now torrential rain, on the other hand...

Oh, and bright blue skies in winter. Never get sick of those.

Sounds great. Have you been there long? Although Spain does seem easier, I want to keep my options open. Spain to experience the job perhaps, and then onto other places.

I've been here 4 years in Rome, and 5 in rural Italy. (PM me if you want details, or ask away on the Italy forum.)

I was in Turkey for a month in 2010. I loved it. I was just on the Med Coast, worked my way from Dalaman to Anthalya. Are there teaching jobs available near the coast, or is it all in Istanbul?

And would it be easy-ish to get a basic job that covers my expenses?

It's not too difficult to find a job like the one you describe, but jobs in the coastal tourist resorts are pretty thin on the ground. I've see one or two advertised in Antalya, but the majority of jobs are concentrated in the major cities in the west of the country, particularly Istanbul.

If you are just looking for a job to cover your expenses then stay within Europe, somewhere like Italy or Spain, as it's a lot less visa hassles for you.
