|
|
I know I am late with but Im trying to get it done now. I am willing to pay for one of the tax services (HR Block or something similar) so that I can easily file online. But both of the sites I have tried so far asked me for W2 form information.
I have never gotten anything like a W2 in china. I have no idea what to type in for all of this information. (employer identification numbers, etc)
What is the easiest way to file all of this online? I am willing to pay the 30-40$ fee or whatever it is, I just want it to be easy. |

as far as i know, cause this is what i did, i just entered the
approximate US$ amount i had been paid this year. the
school didn't give me any forms, no receipts, nothing.
that goes in line 7 of your 1040. but then you subtract that
same amount on line 21, other income. well, it should
be the same amount, which you get from line 18 of
form 2555-EZ foreign earned income exclusion. supposedly
no w2 is required when filing the 2555.
if you go the efile route, there should be a box to check
foreign employer so that you can leave the EIN blank. |

You have no taxable earnings, yet are willing to spend 195-260 rmb to tell the IRS what they already know?
Why? I recommend the Tao principle of wu wei, actionless action.

I always put the cash in a white envelope and give it to the collector. |

yepper.
download the pdf forms, fill in the blanks, print, sign, mail.
it's not that hard.
hardest part was selling juuuuust enough stocks/funds to use
up the full 0% LTCG allowance. |

Is this what you used?
It isnt working for me because it wont allow me to proceed since there is no "employer identification number" to enter. the H R Block was the same thing. I cant believe they made it this difficult. |
