My son, who is 29, has an Associate's Dgree in Interdisciplinary Studies. If he were to take a month long TEFL training, would he be qualified enough to begin teaching? Is Hess Language Schools in Taiwan a good option?

Many/Most countries demand a minimum of a bachelor's degree for visa purposes. I don't know about Taiwan. In Japan, he wouldn't be able to get a work visa with just an associate's degree unless he had 3 years of related work experience.

Why doesn't your son post here?

Coming from North America he WON'T be able to teach LEGALLY in most of Asia with just an associates degree and a TEFL cert.

He certainly won't get a work visa in Taiwan (Bachelors degree required).

Hess is OK for starting out, though at 29, your son might be older than many of the other teachers.
