i am currently working as a kindergarten teacher in taiwan but i want to help mt friend learn English. I was wondering if anyone can recomend a good book (that i can get in Taipei) or maybe a website.
i have no idea how to teach adults so any advice would be appreciated. i guess the level is intermediate if that helps. |

Headway - the British version, not the American one.
Move Up - also British.
Language in Use - also British. |

I concur on 'Move Up'. That's an excellent textbook that I used extensively during my CELTA training, and with many students beyond that. I've never seen it in Taipei, though - Polina, could you tell me where it's available here?
The 'New Interchange' series is also quite good - they've got those at Caves books on Chungshan N. Rd. north of Chungxiao.
Good luck, phil82. |

I would recommend the excellent Taboos and Issues. This book covers a lot of ground that other books don't cover. My intermediate adult students found it very enjoyable.
Also, you can always get free ideas and materials off the web. My two favorite places to find new things are Humanising Language Teaching and onestopenglish.com. |
