|
|
I was contacted by Pin Point Recruitment UAE months after I applied to any positions. I searched the forums and found nothing on this organization. They are asking for information and would like to give me an interview. They are offering $3,500 a month and an $11,000 cash furniture allowance. Does this seem legit? I am a bit skeptical but that is my nature. Thanks in advance. |

I would be sceptical. The only legit employer to my knowledge that uses limited recruiters is ADEC. Everyone else communicates directly. The furniture allowance (if in USD) seems highish while the salary seems lowish. |

And what about housing? tickets?
I would avoid unknown recruiters...

Go for it. What have you got to lose? Sure you'll know when to break contact if necessary.
Recruiters are used by many companies now as outsourcing is so "in" and an economic reality in these harsh times. There is a big difference between the aforementioned and contractors.
I had a video link interview with HCT a few years ago after initially being contacted by a recruiter. Direct hire for Ministry of Higher Education in Oman also through the dreaded recruiter a few more years ago. |

Recruiters are common in Oman now, but still rare outside of the ADEC contract in the UAE. Certainly no reason to use them at tertiary level if you have an MA and experience.
Find out who they are recruiting for and NEVER send them money. I wouldn't send them any copies of anything important until you know the actual employer.
