Hi all. I am just wondering if anyone knows anything at all about Semey or Oskemen in Kazakhstan. What is life like there? Is there anything to do for fun? What are the people like? Is everything up there just flat steppe, or are is there a bit more geographic variance? I am trying to get any information I can at all about either of these places, and if anyone has been to both, which they think is better? Would it be easy to travel to other locations from there? It seems you'd have to fly to Almaty or Astana to get to a bigger airport. Again, any information at all would help. There is very little information on the internet that I can find, and I am trying to make up my mind about moving there ASAP. It is either there, or Al Ain in the U.A.E. Kazakhstan is a bit more money and sounds a more unique experience, but perhaps extremely boring and isolated.
