It makes you wonder how they get away with making such statements, when it clearly goes against the rules set out by central government.
This is just one instance where provincial/city government seems to be able to totally ignore central government and make it's own rules fir it's own reasons. Must remember though, that the way the rules are interpreted away from central government leaves a lot to be desired. And of course it's not beyond the realms of possibility that local government may be unaware of such rules. |

In my city, if one is qualified and in good health, he may be hired up to age 69. This is my observation. There are more over-55-to-65 year-old teachers than any other age group here.
To my knowledge, the twenty-something group is more likely not to be renewed at the end of his contract IN MY CITY. |
