Does anyone know of a fairly large sized pharmacy in Bangkok where they would have an English speaking worker (since I don't know Thai) who I could speak with to find out if they sell certain medications I would need if I end up working in Thailand?

-Thanks

Check this out and don't be afraid to call or email them as my experience has been they are happy to answer any questions you have before you ever go to the actual pharmacy. Good luck!

I believe that most of the chemists on Sukhumvit / Silom road would have staff that would be able to assist you. They have Boots in Bangkok and most foreigners go in there, so they are used to English.

Also, as they are a chemist and you are asking for names of medication I am pretty sure if you just gave them the name of the medication they would know what you were talking about.

It's better to get your medication from hospital pharmacies if you can. Thailand is the land of ripoffs and that includes PHARMACIES. They also give bad advice and sell stuff to you that is worthless, for instance antibiotics. They did a study on Viagra and found that 90 percent of the stuff was fake and they found fakes at pharmacies too. Anything the least bit serious go to a pharmacy at the hospital and if you have to see a doctor.

The mark-up on medications dispensed at hospital pharmacies in Thailand is ridiculous and to be avoided by having the doctor write a script for any medications and take it to a reputable pharmacy such as the one I indicated above.

What you wrote does not square with reality or my experience living in Thailand for many years.
