Hello to all. I start work in China in Sept. and need to apply for a 3 month tourist visa to enter the country. (US citizen) The nearest Chinese consulate is over 300km away, so I need a very reliable and trust worthy agency to handle my visa application (representing me at the consulate). What are some very good agencies to look for help? (website link would be very appreciated)

Thanks

Why do you need a tourist visa?

If your job is with a legal bone fide employer, who has a licence to employ foreigners, why are they not arranging a letter of invitation for you to obtain a 'Z' visa, which is what you require to legally work in China.?

Red Flags!!

So many people have come unstuck on this issue before and found themselves in a nasty predicament, so I'm happy it worked for you last time and that you can trust them.

Good luck!

Isn't there another kind of visa you can get besides a Z or L visa? I think it's called something like a business visa (F visa?). It just seems strange to get a tourist visa to work (legally).

The OP professes confidence in this company. If they are still able to do an in-country conversion from an L-Visa to a Residence Permit, they either have really strong connections or fistfuls of cash to pay people who do. That, or they will simply place the OP with a school that can do it. Seems dodgy and/or risky since the game has changed, but still not impossible.
