Hi. I'm considering moving to Mexico City to teach, starting mid-August and I will have pets in tow. Anyone know of an inexpensive place for me to rent or know of someone who needs a great roommate?? |

You might check on Craigs List and ask if they will take pets. I have seen some ads for room-mates that specify that its OK to have a cat, or dog or whatever. What kind, and how many, pets are we talking about. Aside from that, it is pretty easy to find places to rent with pets, I would say a lot easier than in the US. |

thanks so much for your help. I have been answering ads for roommates on Craigslist - and noone will accept pets. I actually have three - a dog and two cats. But the conversation doesn't even get that far. They want no pets. |

I think you're going to have a very hard time finding a place from a distance. "Pets welcome" is not something you see in an ad online very often I'll bet.
You'll have better luck finding something when on the ground in DF and looking at local sources. It won't be difficult to board your pets in a safe place - many neighbourhood vets offer boarding - while you're looking around.
If you have a job lined up, can your employer help find a place? Some of them do. Departing staff may have a suggestion or had pets themselves. |

I asked my employer to look for me. Also, I have a friend in D.F. who I asked to look. I don't want to board my pets. They need medication on a daily basis.

Check the ads on compartodepa.com.mx as well. I think you'll have a hard time finding an apartment share that will accept three animals. You're best bet might be renting an apartment, but that comes with its own set of problems. The biggest being the fact that you need a fiador. You may want to ask you're employer if they are willing to be your fiador. You also won't be able to rent a place until you are here. Good luck! |
