Dear Warning Bells,

That's it for me - I learned a while back not to try to argue with people who don't care about facts or logic.

Have you ever been in Saudi?

But I wish you all the best and hope you find your version of reality comfortable.

Regards,
John

Islam is only the fastest-growing religion in the world because of the critical mass of birth rates. Muslim families around the world mostly strive for 6 or 8 children--who automatically and permanently become Muslim upon birth. Not because of conversions.

They strive for 6-8 children? Where did you get this information?

There's no reliable statistical information about conversions. But nobody becomes 'permanently' part of any belief system upon birth.

Your source lacks credibility as a reference, as it's clearly a biased promotional site. Where did I get this information about demographics? From 18 years of residence in three Islamic countries and from reading a lot. But if you'd like a more scholarly report, refer to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Claims_to_be_the_fastest-growing_religion.

There are lots of citations and tables in the above which you will, of course, ignore in favor or your biased promotional one.

Nobody becomes permanently a member of any religion upon birth? You're joking, right? In practical terms, most Muslim offspring do. Especially in the KSA. I take it you know what the penalty is for apostasy.

By the way, don't lecture us about US history. The French Navy played an important though not absolutely crucial role in the American revolution. So did a lot of other factors. Right or wrong, good or bad, the US was the only country in history to free itself from the British empire through war.

However, your distaste for all westerners was very graphically shown in some of your earlier posts which had to be removed from this site. Thus you have destroyed all credibility of any of your future posts--even if they made sense in their own right, which of course they don't. They are not only illogical and contradictory as Johnslat said, but also downright false. Congratulations--you have only made yourself look silly.

Badar Bin Bada Boom,

Wikipedia is not a scholarly source. The information you give is more than ten years outdated for Saudi and certainly does not reflect reality in the majority of the Muslim world, which is predominantly Asian. Read here about fertility of the Kingdom:

Quote:
There has been substantial decrease in the fertility rate, from 6.4 children per mother in 1999 to 3.8 in 2009.

http://looklex.com/e.o/saudi_arabia.demographics.htm

One can have a goldfish for a lifetime and still not be an expert about goldfish. Likewise, someone can live in their own country for 100 years and still know very little about it. So nobody can claim to be an expert on the subject of conversion numbers to Islam simply because they have livedd in three Islamic countries. There are so many more out there!

You tell me not to lecture and then you turn around and do it yourself! Do you not see the arrogance in yourself? The French played a pivitol role in financing the American Revolution and 'Global War' on Britain. I'm not talking about just the Navy here. Your reaction is ignorant of the facts. The French are right in their condemnations... They were used and quickly forgotten by American revisionists.

Thanks, but I really don't need your help to prove my point. From your own source:
Yeah, that's called cherry picking professor.
Hanging your statement of fact on Guinness might be better served with a glass of their delicious beer.
Contending religiosity isn't highly correlated to parentage is simply ignorant.
Suggesting others "talk" to Africans converting in "record numbers" might carry an argument in a pub, but not on a forum of teachers.

No, it's not-- but its sources often are.
Or as best can be had on the Internet, given J-stor and its lot are behind pay-walls.
Did you look at the sources of that wiki article?
