I found that the TASIS England school hires Americans. I'm sure the competition is stiff, but if you're well qualified, you could apply. Here's what they want, if you don' thave an EU passport

For candidates who do not hold European Union passports, is important to note that the UK government requires three years of prior and consecutive experience teaching in the American curriculum (either in public or private institutions) before an application for a work permit can be made.

They don't require a teaching license, but do require
A minimum of a bachelor's degree with 2 years previous experience
Prior experience with IB and AP instruction , or A-levels

Their application form asks if you have an English passport! What on earth is that?

Because it makes it easier. You can still apply. It says on their website. You simply need 3 years instead of the 2 year minimum.

No, I mean there is no such thing as an English passport. British yes, not not an English one. Hope the rest of their info is more accurate.

Sure it won't be the first time a mistake has been made. Maybe they meant English speaking. Or British. I bet you could email them and ask Wink

There's also another American school in London that hires Americans, obviously. I think you need a master's degree, though.

Sasha's point is that if they got THAT wrong, what else have they fouled up. Maybe you should check to see if this is a 419-er !
