I agree with Gambate, but bear in mind that what he seems to be calling an ALT position is different that what I do.
You need the foreign license and experience to work in an international school. You don't need any foreign license to work as what I call a FT position in a Japanese private school. |

| The school I worked at wanted to direct hire me but the BOE said no. The BOE wanted the luxury of having a different dispatch company there every year so they don't have to fire anyone themselves. It didn't matter if direct hire was cheaper. |

As long as the BOEs are going to be happy throwing away millions of taxpayers' yen so that they don't have to deal with foreigners, there will always be a dispatch company to rip us off.
I can't see things ever getting better, to be honest. |
