I'm seriously considering Kuwait as a place to start my teaching career. Can anyone who has first hand experience working there or living there give me a rundown on the current situation of what life is like as a teacher? Are there many basketball courts around? Do the kids have interest in basketball at all? |

they have a national team. kuwaitis love basketball. you wont have a problem finding friends to play with....lots of shopping malls and restaurants. traffic is very bad, not fun at all.
Q8 would not be a bad choice. It is, like many places, what you make of it. |

Be very careful of which school you choose. There are some very bad employers and you need to check them out carefully. Try to communicate with past and present teachers if you can.
One of the long time teachers in Kuwait, who stops in here now and again, made a list of good and bad schools on one of the threads here, but you might need to spend some time reading to find it.
This is the slow time of the year when most teachers are traveling, so you may not get much response.
