Oh just checked my contract, there is no mention at all about summer vacation. So I guess that means I am boned@_@

No mention of vacation generally means that it defaults to what's written in the Labour Standards Law.

Not everything about vacation is written in your contract. You should also know what's in the Labour Standards Law and in your employer's registered rules of employment to make sure that you aren't being taken advantage of.

It's only fair that you should be paid during the school summer vacation, and even more fair that you should be paid full salary for that time.

Honestly YS, sometimes you make some ridiculous or pendantic remarks that are less than helpful and often more confusing than the posts you are correcting...

Give me an example, Seklarwia. Everything that I post I believe is correct. Believe me that if I had the time, I'd be making a lot more corrections.

Whether or not it actually classifies as "training" might also be considered borderline.

Interestingly enough, that issue is addressed here:

Quote:
26. Management assign trainers with ALT experience to run training sessions.

会社は、研修を行うトレーナーの任命については、ALT経験を持つ人に限ること。

Looks like the "unpaid training" has been mentioned too.

Quote:
15. Management count the training days forced upon members during July as additional working days to be paid at an additional Y15,000 per day and refund full actual transportation costs.

会社は、全組合員に対し、7月に働かされる研修の日を労働日とし、日給15,000円および交通費の実費を追加に支給すること。
