This article is three years old. Is it correct? I'm a dedicated swimmer -- usually train 4-5 days per week -- this is depressing.

Somebody say it ain't so.

It aint so! I am living here and I have a gym membership at a hotel pool. This is actually my second hotel and 3rd membership and so far I've paid 450TL for 3 months, 650 for 6 months and 450 for 4 months. The hotels names are Green Park and Taksim Gonen. They are both next to Taksim square, the very center of Istanbul. The are not olympic size or anything, but are empty about 80% of the time. I avoid going after 6pm. And yes if the men are there, they stare. But you'll get used to that walking down the street. I should mention I got these prices because I had friend references, so you have to do some bargaining.
