Hello all,
I am wondering whether my CELTA has an expiry date. I gained a Pass A in 2003 (how time flies!) but have not done any teaching since. Other than that I spent about six months in TEFL in 1985 after I first graduated. I am again thinking about making the move into TEFL.
I have a masters degree in computational linguistics and a first degree in German and linguistics. I have been working in software engineering and other IT-related positions for over 20 years and am now approaching 50.
Will my CELTA Pass A carry any weight, particularly after so much time? Will my linguistics qualifications from the dim and distant past be of any benefit? I would probably be looking for jobs in Hong Kong, China, Indonesia or Cambodia.
Any insights you can give will be gratefully accepted.
Thanks. |

Your cert should't expire, but not having teaching experience since you've got it might work against you. |
