Following a few threads about amenities and so on in Oman and thought I would post about shopping services.

I have been using the Shop n Ship service through the courier company Aramex and it has been reliable - for ordering books, small items or gym equipment like the other thread is talking about.

You set up an account with them and they will provide a po box in the US or in the UK - you buy something through Amazon or whatever and have it shipped to that address and every week the box is checked and whatever is there will be shipped to Muscat for normal charges.

For example, I bought about 4 pairs of sandals and shoes from Lands End or LL Bean I can't remember and the shipping charges were about 20 rials for the box. One book would probably be about 7-8 rials.

So, for those hard to get items and if you can't find it in Dubai, then this is the option.

I have used Aramex for the last 5 years here in Oman.I can thoroughly recommend them.
