|
|
Dear all,
Just got an email saying I have been offered a job from paidESLjobs and that a few schools are interested in me. It does sound a bit dodgy as I need to pay a fee to get access to these jobs (and I have never paid any fees for leads to jobs abroad).
Question is, has anyone dealt with them? If so what happened (did you get the job)?
Any help will be appreciated
Thanks

Scams abound, but a general rule of thumb is that you should never have to pay a fee to "access" job information. Stay clear of these people, if I were you. |

Did you even apply to them in the first place, or did the email come with a note from a Nigerian ambassador's wife...? |

no problem.
ask them if they will accept a bank draft you just received
for $1,000,000,000.36 from a former libyan general. tell
'em they can deduct their fee, plus 25% because you trust
them, and western union you the remainder. |

I did apply to them so didnt think much of it until they said they wanted 395 USD to access info. Anyway, I think I will stay clear of them.

I'll send you a list for $50!
Seriously, you can spend hours and hours looking at different ESL/EFL jobs posted on the internet; all different, all free. You don't need them.

So I bit the bullet and paid their placement fee. I know, I know...
But they had jobs in my country of choice and interviews lined up almost immediately. And I found them online, they didn't find me. And I'm travelling with my young family and wanted a sure thing. I figured the cost of their placement was worth the risk, as the wage was amazing by ESL standards... Really, all of the warning bells went off together, so I was confused and excited and hopeful--and now pretty darn foolish. (I've been teaching ESL since 1999 and thought I'd seen it all before!).
Long story cut short: It is 99.9% a scam. (That 0.1% of me is HOPING something will still come of it, though).
Save your money and avoid paidesljobs like the clap. |
