What are the teaching prospects for an older person to teach in Peru?
I am a 63 year engineer. I hold two Master Degrees, one in education, the other in applied linguistics with a TESOL cert, and presently teach ESL to adults in the USA.
I have taught at the college level; Electronics Computer Sci, and ESL to Tech's.
I have presented at TESOL, CATESOL, Costa Rica, and MexTESOL.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,

Are you just looking to teach at a language institute? university? school?
You could probably get a job at an institute with your experience. Do you have a visa? or need one? |

Thanks naturegirl,
What is the difference between university and institute?
At this years TESOL conference I was approached by a member of PERUTESOL to give a presentation, if I can find their contact info I think they'll be a good resource.
Have you had any experience with PERUTESOL?

A University is a university, a college is you will.
An institute is a language institute, like Berlitz.
Usually, unis in LIma won't get you visas, but sometimes those outside Lima will. See your PM.
Who contacted you from Peru TESOL? I know a lot of people there |

Naturegirl, you are so helpful.
As to who contacted me from PERUTESOL I'll need to check my contact list. I may have miss-spoke in a previous post. I have given presentations at several conventions, so I need to determine which convention I spoke to PERUTESOL, it could have been MEXTESOL not TESOL.
Are you a member of PERUTESOL? |

No, I happily left Peru back in 2010. While I was there I was a member of it and APPI though. |
