Where can I work and get a workout in a proper gym (weights) within a reasonable distance? Anywhere?
BTW has BKC Moscow impoved its reputation any?
Thanks in advance. |

Gyms are everywhere in Moscow, so you shouldn't have any problem finding one near you. Prices vary widely. The cheapest I've seen was 2000r per month, but it was a summer promotion. Finding a place that charges 3000r per month should be doable, though.
Can't speak on the BKC reputation, though. |

finding a decent gym for a reasonable price is not easy. I was paying 8000r a month for a fairly average place that would cost about a quarter of that in London.
After a few months, i saw an offer bringing it down to 4000r a month if i paid for 6 months, 3000r if i paid for a year. it has a swimming pool as well though. it's central and a few mins walk from metro.
why not pay less? Moscow is massively low in gyms. high rent prices etc.. it means that gyms are either expensive or they are cheaper (still not cheap compared to western prices) and massively overcrowded.
in saying that, if you do find a gym that is a little cheaper a few things to note.
1. drinking water will not be available for free (and to buy will be 150r a 500ml bottle)
2. use of certain facilities can be extra; swimming pool, classes, boxing room...
3. use at certain times can be extra |

as for bkc, over the past year, there does appear to have been fewer and fewer bkc complaints as the year has worn on.... |

Thanks for the replies. I'd noticed fewer scandals originating from BKC and thought there may have been a change. |

Just the usual administration shuffles and offices moving around. Still the same ol' same ol' as usual. |

I find BKC has a certain allure, something akin to a challenge. I can remember back to when people would say BKC would look good on your resume, then the word started to get around about them.
It is a paying job though, so I might try it someday. |

macedonianmike, sounds like most of the guys at my local gym right now. Bench press, curls, and beer.
I'm no fan of cardio myself. |
