Hello everyone,

I have been offered a teaching contract in Russia---not in an urban area like Moscow/St.Petersburg.

This school is established but the sector that I have been asked to work in is brand new, so much to the extent that I am being given a lot of control and imput in regards to classroom/curriculum content. I am a trained classroom teacher so I find that a litle intimidating but not impossible.

My questions: I have not been offered a formal written contract and the proccess set set to go as such: apostilles of my passport and degrees for visa purposes as well as a HIV test for visa purposes. A medical exam when I am in Russia. Does this sound like normal procedure to you?

The salary includes my apartment and is around 2400 USD a month.

What do you think?

Thank you.

The procedure sounds absolutely normal.
The contract is pretty good; this is especially so if housing is included. Even if you have to pay rent it's a decent enough salary.
Best of luck.

Normal with the exception of the salary which, given the free accommodation, is very good.
