Got a job offer but its only for 3months contract. Its a summer camp thing, and the school is going to sponsor me a work visa. Would it be hard to transfer my employment visa to another employer?

Come on now, review some other postings before you aska question that has been talked about at length. Her is my original response to this from the last discussion.
I think I've answered this a few times but here we go: If you have a work visa and change jobs at the end of the visa then you apply for an extension to the visa not a new visa, you only change the sponsor. That is, if the job is in the same field, e.g. going from one teaching job to another. It takes significantly less time than the original visa and is pretty much a rubber stamp. If you are changing jobs in the middle of the visa then all you do is apply for a change of sponsorship, also a rubber stamp. The point is that the original work visa is a bit drawn out but subsequent extension and so forth are pretty easy. Hope that helps. |

'Gilly23', I can not claim to be an expert on this issue; indeed, all I can do is tell you of personal experience (there is, however, a fully comprehensive immigration website to assist in matters of absolute fact).
All of my former HK work visas have been post-specific. Indeed, one such early visa of mine was actually task-specific! As I understand it, (and, as I say, I may well merely be reflecting accidental, personal experience), no one receives a work visa for HK that ever allows for a search for employment; rather, everyone receives a visa to perform a specific (sponsored, contracted, finite) post.
So, and in answer to your question above, do you think it would be hard for you to, say, transfer a contract from one employer to another? |

| 3 months seems like an awful long time for a "summer camp thing" and just seems to fit with the maximum time allowed on a visitor's visa. Are you sure this is all legit? I would find it odd for a company to go through all the hastle of sponsoring someone for only three months when there are lots of people here already. Or maybe I am just totally wrong again. |

| This job is legit, the company is now doing the sponsorship for me, if i dont get the work visa then i wont come to hk |
