Snolly is correct about the EFL language centre run by university of Queensland. It has its own building, in fact, about 30 classrooms, excellent facilities, the last time I was there, the centre is called ELI-English language institute and the pay is very good, over 20 usd an hour. Also it's an IELTS testing centre, focuses on academic English, ESP and English communication courses. One would think that it employs a lot of teachers due to the size of the building, but that's not the case, about ten teachers and unless you have the qualifications and experience, they won't touch you. In fact, it's not a business, it's supported by the Australian govt and is losing lots of money. Basically, incompetent directors who don't know how to develop an EFL school, and the school director generally lasts a few years and is constantly being replaced by more fools from down under.

Thanks for the update general on the Qld Uni at Danang. Such a pity its so badly run. I haven't been there for a few years. So I guess if the pays good and the facilities are good, its a good gig if you don't mind the maniacal admin. Pretty much the norm in Vietnam ESL, but we come to expect better from foreign run outfits. Disappointing.
