Hi everyone,
I have three job offers and they are fairly different, so I am hoping you will be able to help me decide.
Job #1: University job in Guangzhou (English). 16 hours per week, 2 bdrm apt, utilities paid, free computer and internet, health benefits, paid vacations winter/summer, flight reimbursement. Stipulation that no other work be taken outside of this position. 5500 RMB per month.
Job #2: International school (high school) in Taiwan (History). 20-25 hours per week, flight reimbursement, no accommodation allowance, health benefits, paid vacations winter/summer. Must stay on campus for the full day, and be involved in extracurricular activities. $24,000 USD per year.
Job #3: International school (middle school) K (History). 25 hours per week, flights included, health benefits, accommodation, bonus. $32,000 USD per year.
I can obviously see which is preferable in terms of salary, but I'm considering the overall package, including location. Any advice or ideas would be very welcome. Thanks.

China.
That salary, 55,000RMB (per month) is simply fantastic.
You will be able to save almost the entire lot!
The downside is that Guangzhou is a complete hole. Fantastic food though. |

Sorry! That was a typo. I've changed it.
Any advice now that I have changed the amount? Please let me know. Thanks. |

Are #'s 2 and 3 really 'international' schools or only in name? For the salary, I'm guessing they cater only for local students. If one does have an international student body and administration, and one doesn't, then that would be the clincher for me. |

I know that one of them came from Search, but I know both primarily cater to local students.
I have already decided against the Taiwan option, so it's between the other two now. I'm having a really difficult time deciding between them - not sure what I'm looking/waiting for, but i'm open to suggestions. I suppose another option would be to wait (again) until something comes along I'm absolutely certain about - but I've also been told that I might be waiting a long time for something 'perfect' while I could be out there getting experience, and with that experience, being able to move to something better. |
