I'm thinking about making the move from Korea to go to China in March as there seems to be more adult teaching jobs in China. I'd like to live in a 2nd tier city so a city like Suzhou seems like a good choice from what I've read.
What would be a decent wage in Suzhou, which would allow some savings. I have one offer of 9000 rmb and 1,500 housing allowance, would this be okay? I'm not that much of a big spender, usually have drinks once a week and cook at home most of the time.
What are the general quality of the Gym's in Suzhou like? Would I be able to find a gym with a squat rack ( not machine) and up to 50kg dumbbells? Also if I want supplements from Iherb.com, is there ever problems with customs ordering stuff in? |

I am guessing that offer is from a training center.
Public schools typically include furnished apartments.
My suggestion is that you do two things before you go to Suzhou.
First, check out the reputation of the school and make doubly sure that they can provide you with a work visa and residency permit.
Secondly , arranging your own apartment can be very difficult. Make sure you know how and where you will live when you arrive. Deposits ? Utilities ? Location ? Etc. |

make sure that 1500 will cover an apartment.
if you end up spending 3000 a month, you'll be making
university salary but putting in perhaps twice the hours. |

Decided to give it a pass in the end. Don't think the offer was that great, from what you guys said. Gonna keep on looking! |
