Has anyone worked for these people? They advertise here on Dave's.

I was thinking of trying it out for a first experience in China, and a tune-up for teaching, which I really need. Thanks in advance.

Internships are for pussycats. Just man up and get an actual job.

Trust me - you'll feel like such a sucker if you come here and work for free.

You're welcome.

Agree. You might as well do an internship as a construction worker or burger flipper.

Man up? Yes, that has been said on the forum of late.
How long have you been waiting for the chance to say it to someone? Did it make you feel like a man to say it?

Just an ego check, zacthecat, and you're welcome.

Imo, there is no real point to internships in China (especially when you are talking about teaching English).

Usually, teaching internships are exactly the same thing as normal teaching jobs. However, by labeling it an "internship", they get away with not paying you a salary and charging you money instead. I met some people who were in "internships". They worked more hours than I did, didn't receive any additional "training" and paid a hefty sum for the opportunity.

My advice is to just stay away from internships in China. There are exceptions in non-teaching fields. Even so, one of my friends went on a "medical" internship in China, only to spend his time making beds (and paying over a $1000 to do so).
