I think I have to concur with jonniboy.

In grammar books we abbreviate : who is
who was
who has

but these are parts of verb tenses : who's playing tennis
who's been playing tennis.

She is a teacher who has 3 children - cannot be abbreviated as
"she's a teacher who's 3 children".

You think it should be A road militia officer stopped this motorist whose car is so dirty? Sorry, but if you do not know what who's means then it is your problem, not mine or Oxford's.

I don't think that, I know that. Oxford don't have a problem with it either: "These two are sometimes confused. Who's is the short form of who is. Whose is the possessive form of who."

There are more than one meaning for who's than just who is. Mark Twain was right, thank you for your wise input jonniboy, your true feelings show very well.

I do feel that English teachers should know the difference between "who's" and "whose" and "there is" and "there are", yes. I sincerely hope you are not passing on such basic mistakes to your students.

A simple fact is that sometimes using proper grammar just does not work, especially when you are looking to create a certain aspect. Just like the fist person to bring this up, he seemed to think that the book was going to use the caption, it is not only the photo and nothing more. I used who's for a reason, yes I know whose is proper grammar, but in this case, I had a reason for using who's. But I give up, some of you so-called grammar experts may know all of the rules, all 500,000 English grammar rules well enough, but you know nothing about creative writing or captions. I have been teaching grammar for 20 plus years, have a degree in journalism and have more than proven myself in writing and teaching. It has been nice here, but I'm out of here. So it really does not matter what snide remarks you want to make about me because I have proven myself where it is important. You so-called grammar experts would be laughed out of the classroom if some of the world's most famous authors where in your class. Nobody said anything about teaching grammar errors, I only said that sometimes it is better to break a grammar rule. Surely you experts have noticed how using perfect grammar sounds like it was something w
