| I know about MOD EDIT and other websites, but is there another way to get a job in Bangkok from abroad? I am about to have my Physical Education degree with my certification for teaching in America. I do not however have a TEFL. Where can I find language schools or anything like that to work in Bangkok? |

short answer = no.
longer answer = look at international school sites rather than ESL sites.
ibo.org , tes.co.uk , etc.
The ONLY other real option is to get a ticket and get on the plane.
Jobs are found on the ground, not on the internet.
Until then you are nothing more than another tourist kicking the tires and looking at the brochures.

Usually, yes.
Right now = no (due to the flood)
Will there be when you are ready to get on a plane = yes.

| I am thinking about taking a TEFL course that lasts until August. I will try my best to find a job in BKK after the course. Thank you again TT |

| Sorry to bother you again Tom. If I come on a tourist visa in June or July without a TEFL, will it still be easy for me to find a job in Bangkok with just my P.E. degree? |

In a k-12 school = maybe (late for term start (May 15) so the choices won't be the best).
Outside of BKK = yes.
Language center in BKK = may have to take a TEFL cert (employer dependent). Certainly WILL have to have one for the better academies.
Just a job with some generic agency to get you by to start until you get organized and learn your way around the system = YES.
Good paying job = no. You'll start off with the rest of the fresh meat at about 32k until you figure out which way is up.

Major plus if you're talking about being licensed in the USA which I think you are. If you must teach in Thailand you need to shoot for the international schools. The best thing to do is to come to Thailand and get a list of the international schools in Thailand off of the internet and go to the schools and apply. You can try private schools too. The pay that you're looking for is going to be around $2000 US to start with. Anything less then don't waste your license on the school. |

Some yes, some no. It depends on the school's accreditation and who the accreditation is from.
There are lots of decent schools that will accept a certified teacher without a lot of classroom time. There are only a few who won't (again, usually because of their accreditation requirements).
