To cut to the chase, I will be in Taiwan for several months over the summer. I am looking at doing some temporary teaching while I am there. What do you think are my chances of just winging it, and scouting around for some work after I get there? I don't intend to lie to any employers and tell them that I am staying more than the 2-3 months, so it is temp work that I am looking for. Of course I will also be on a tourist visa, which makes it all the more tricky (I doubt anyone can legally get me a working visa under those circumstances). I am actually an English teacher by profession, and previously taught for over two years in Taiwan 1999-2001.
I know that jobs for someone of my experience were easy to find back then, but considering the different circumstances this time around, do you think I'd be wasting my time looking for work this time around?
Any feedback would be appreciated.
