Hello Everyone,
Does anyone know of any hiking clubs in Nagoya or the surrounding area (or even neighboring prefectures)? The city's international center has lots of info about trails, but very little (well, nothing as far as I could tell) about groups. I've hiked alone and it didn't seem like the safest thing in the world. I found a little online, but it all concerned hardcore, let's-climb-Everest mountianeering groups. I just want to climb some little mountains in Gifu or something.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Chris |

I don't know of any groups.. you might try posting something on the gifu jets yahoo groups page. I am pretty interested in doing some not-to- serious-but-enough-to-feel-it-the-next-day hiking and I know a few other people around Gifu who would probably join in.
Maybe we should start a group...?
Although raining season is coming (um, already here?) so maybe it's difficult time to organize hikes. Not sure, because this is my first rainy season here, so I have no idea if the weather is as predicatably bad as I am told it will be. |

It's really hard to say if the weather is predictable or not. We've had lots of weather lately too. |

Guess that's why our Japanese co-ordinator is still relectant to move the huge kerosene heater between our desks into storage. You never know when it still might come in handy.... |
