Do they allow you to take the housing allowance or you must use their housing?

Well, that news, or related events, has been the talk for several weeks. It is even suggested by this post. Unfortunately, since it hasn't shown up in the 21st century Bible (Facebook), it's not being given credence. |

VS is right. I'm still waiting to go out and join my relative. He's been put on quick visas and cannot do anything until he gets the iqama. And this has been the case for all teachers (at KSU, not PNU). Everyone has been apart for 3 months+...
My advice.. if someone offers you a quick business visa and you definitely need your family with you, do NOT take the job. Though it might not be the case at other uni's, I know that ICEAT (at KSU) have been one of the better companies in terms of pay, etc, but even they've failed on the iqama issue. |

| My husband told me it is easy to get visit visas. I wonder if it is, and if we can apply from the US for them. He heard this from his cousin in Riyadh. |

I was told about this, as well.. I guess it must be possible. |

I'm sorry - I very much doubt that it is "easy" to get visit visas. My reasons for saying so: 1. Nothing that requires government/administrative processing is ever "easy" there; 2. during my nineteen years in the Kingdom, I knew of about six people who tried to get visit visas. A couple actually succeeded, but it took literally months.
The only exception would be if the teacher knew someone who had BIG wasta - but then, there'd have to be a payback.

WOW, I cant believe Saudi opened up the fourm so we can post.
Adwaa was fired by SBC. They promised people the world and in the end MOST did nto get what they expected.
SBC made it clear they ONLY wanted single women. However ADWAA hired tons of single mother or married women. He even arranged business and temp work visas for the women AND their children. Adwaa did this WITHOUT having permission from SBC. These women came here and it was a shock to SBC and it was a shock to these women when they were told we only wanted single women. |

Wow! It seems that a certain few posters have helped out a certain "princessali" who was encouraged by another poster to bring her six-month-older to the Kingdom on an Adwaa contract and "tell us how it is"!
The next time I pull the appendages off of an insect, I"ll ask it the same question! 
It was a tragedy averted! |

So if Adwaa has been sacked by SBS what'll happen to many of the (single) women who signed the contract pre hajj? |
