In my experience, the least sexual harassment that I encountered in the Middle East was in Oman. I know things have gone downhill with modernization and tourism, but in my years there, it was rare for an Omani man to even look at you... and if you caught them looking, they were embarrassed.
Ahh... the good old days. And this was when there was truly a small amount of expat women... a fraction of what is there now.

Perhaps one thing you want to consider is holidays. In the UAE all educational institutions are now following the ADEC calender which gives a three week holiday at Christmas and a two week holiday at Easter. If you like to have time off at this time of year, you may want to consider the UAE. Of course, it's not the best time to travel so you may prefer not to have holidays at these popular times. |
