I was wondering how long does it take to get an invitation to get a work visa? Please help someone. Thanks.

Please also let me know if I have to travel back to my home country to collect the Z-visa or is it possible for the employer send the invitation to the embassy of the current country that I am in.

Best people to ask is the school itself. All depends on when they decide to write the invitation and send it.

It seems to take about 4-6 weeks to get all the paperwork and stuff in order & get your invitation letter (but it would also depend on how fast your employer did what they needed to do). I believe you can apply for the visa outside of your home country if you have a residence permit in the country you are applying. There is a supplementary application that must fill out along with the standard visa application. (ex: if you are living in xxx country with a legal visa & residence permit, then you can apply at the chinese embassy in xxx country.)

Hope this helps Smile

When our school prepares documents, it usually takes around two weeks. After that it takes up to one week to mail out documents. So it can take around three weeks if there are no problems. However, our school aims to allow around six weeks from job offer acceptance to the teacher arriving which is usually ample time.
