Does anyone know what the requirements are for a Teaching Assistant work permit/visa? What qualifications and education are needed?

Also, a friend of mine was told by a recruitment agency that it is possible to get a Teacer's work permit/visa without a Bachelors degree, it just takes longer. I told her this was not the case and she would only be able to get a residency permit. Can anyone here verify that, please.

Thanks,
Connie

Wow, you are a wealth of knowledge. This is twice you've helped me Smile

Everything I have read on these type of forums said you could not get a work permit as a teacher without a degree. And, I overhead the last school I worked for tell a fellow teacher that since she did not have a degree that they could not get a work permit for her.

Thank you for your help. It's much appreciated.

Have a good day,
Connie

Er, excuse me if I am missing something, but you do have a degree equivalent, istanbulian, nvqs are recognised in uk and turkey as worth a degree. You can't work legally without a qualification of that nature.

well congratulations istanbulian on pulling a fast one. but I think the point is still that a teacher needs something to pas off as a degree.

I was playing nice, I am glad for istanbulian. What happened was probably the bureaucrat mistook NVQ3 for NVQ4. I am not having an argument, just trying to clarify some points.

Hi,
Just been reading your posts and to say the least, what a relief . I have been sweating buckets since we don't have degrees only HNDs. I was thinking our chances were slim or ending up in crappy jobs.

Hopefully things haven't changed since you posted this and we are planning to come over Jan/Feb if things go *beep* up here or better Aug/ Sept 2012.

Thanks a lot.

Very Happy
