They just fired everybody (because QP has a new contractor). They're being as decent as they can under the circumstances. |

Adios Imtiaz. Goodby Griffiths. So long Lang Sols. Welcome back Malarchy. Greetings to Edgewater. So is the Gulag resurfacing? Looks like it under yet another contractor and subcontrator. All to save dirhams!! (100 dirhams = 1 QR for those who don't know). The package is not that great - more or less what Lang Sols offered. Only singles need apply. They cannot hire any of the Lang Sols staff who have been left out in the cold! How many times is this tired old record going to be replayed? To be ousted by Imtiaz, Grfifith and now Lang Sols? Gulagers really get the short end of the stick !!!! Hmmm. |

I am one of the Language Solutions teachers who was sacked in QP's latest purge.
We were all hired in October 2011, and told that our contracts would run for 10 months, at which point they would be renewable.
In actual fact, QP was already in bed with Edgewater, and planned to hire us for only 3 months while they put the new contract in place.
The vast majority of us gave up other jobs, or offers, to take QP's shilling.
Huge mistake.
We were all fired, regardless of our abilities, and told that due to Qatari law we could not be re-hired by the new contractor.
This was an absolute nightmare for all of us, and put several people in dire financial/personal straights.
Morally speaking, there was no excuse for this, and I would extremely caution anyone else from heading to Qatar on a QP gig.
If you look at QP's history on Dave's (unlike me, before I went!) you will soon find that mass sackings are par for the course.
Don't go.
For your own sake, don't go. |
