Many of us agree with the general sentiment of your posts - China is changing but let it unfold and occur at whatever pace they set for themselves. On a related note Doc, did you miss the unit on bedside manner during your training?

The bedside manner seems familiar. Maybe the Doc went to the same medical school as that other poster who claimed a medical background and was banned but keeps coming back. My memory is hazy but I think his name was watermelon, or big bang theory fan at the time.

Doctors don't post on EFL teachers' boards, so enough of that nonsense. Nobody was trying to shove their values down anyone's throat; they were trying to get a job. It's true that China is backward in terms of dealing with and accommodating disability, but this is more about people who run some schools rather than government policy. It wouldn't hurt to mention the disability and how it has no effect on your ability to work rather than surprising them with it.

It all depends on how you define "doctor." Maybe he just stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

I'm sorry for what you experienced, but what I think got you dismissed from those other 2 schools, far more than any physical disability, was that you left your first school after ONLY TWO MONTHS due to your health. They likely thought it was a huge issue you were concealing from them.

It was really shitty of them to drag you all the way to China to reject you, but the simple fact is that your employment record in China showed that your health made you an unreliable employee.
