What country in the Middle East pays the most? Please provide your best guess with actual dollar figures for 1 or 2 places. Please see my experience below. Please dont be offended by all the info I put, but it seems to make a difference based on posts I have read.

I am

An Anglo American with no regional dialect
40 years old and in generally good shape
MA in TESOL from an American institution (with honors)
BA in Linguistics (TESOL concentration) from an American institution (with honors/Deans list)
Certificate in TESOL (obtained with BA)
AA in Liberal Arts (with honors from an American institution)

My experience is...

2 years in China - full time teaching
2 years teaching in Egypt (during Master's program)
3 years working in a US-based language school for foreign students (teacher's helper and sub teacher)
5 years tutoring foreign students in US (independently and some community college)

Thank you very much for your help. Im willing to have a direct message or Skype conversation as well.

Generally speaking the highest pay is in Saudi and the UAE and employers vary so specific numbers are really impossible to provide.

I'm assuming that your two years in Cairo during your MA was at AUC? I can tell you that this is considered part time and doesn't really count in relation to pay. Although it does give one a leg-up on experience teaching Arabic speakers.

It is very difficult to give you numbers as the first job is often tough to get... at least at the top employers. But, you should be at least in the $3500-4000+ starting number plus all the usual Gulf benefits like furnished housing, tickets, etc. (assuming that the China experience is in Academic English - post MA...)
