I've been contemplating getting work in Germany. One job advertisement says "applicants must have the right to work in Germany." What exactly is meant here? I am a U.S. citizen and currently in the States. When I worked in Germany, I always got my work permit after I had a job and was actually in Germany.
Is it possible to have the right to work before I get to Germany? Is this a question I should actually ask the school advertising the job? |

It means that the school won't go through the paperwork necessary to hire a non-EU member citizen. They're looking for a teacher from the UK. |

Thanks for the info. I appreciate it. I'll continue looking for jobs elsewhere, instead of there. |
